Quantum-mediated Freezing and Melting of Hydrogen Isotopes in Nanopores

A detailed understanding of freezing and melting of confined pure hydrogen isotopes and their mixtures at finite temperatures are essential for many problems in nanoscale science, including nucleation of high-pressure quantum crystals and atomic or molecular separation. This project aims to develop fundamental knowledge and expertise in freezing/melting of hydrogen isotope mixtures in carbon nanotubes at cryogenic temperatures. The outcome of this project will be beneficial for academic community and potential industrial partners.
