Numerical simulations of floating bodies in waves

Floating bodies are encountered very often in deep-sea oil and gas industry. Some examples include floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) production systems and the Floating Production, storage and Offloading system (FPSO). When they are in close proximity in side-by-side arrangement and are subjected to incident water waves, fluid resonance may occur in the narrow gap between them, which is characterized by violent water surface oscillations with amplitudes substantially larger than the incident wave height. The present project aims to predict the movement of the bodies in waves numerically.
