A combination of ICRAR Data Intensive Astronomy and SKA Science Data Processor projects

The data intensive nature of the SKA Science Data Processor (SDP) calls for a data driven compute architecture which aims at exploiting data parallelism and data locality. ICRAR is leading the respective SDP data layer task, which is an international collaboration within the SDP consortium, and responsible for developing a credible design in the context of the SKA pre-construction phase leading up to the critical design review in 2016. Demonstrating the scalability of the proposed compute architecture is crucial for the success of the SKA project as a whole.
