Pawsey Fridays – opening dialogue
March 18, 2016 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Pawsey is opening its doors one Friday every two months to meet with its users.
If you are a Pawsey facility user or intern, come and join us for the first of many PAWSEY FRIDAYS, community events aimed at bringing together our staff and users.
The first Pawsey Friday will take place Friday 18 March, from 3pm at the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre.
The afternoon will provide an update on some of the projects run using Pawsey systems, but more importantly, give you the opportunity to network and get to know each other in a relaxed and informal setting.
This first Friday will kick off with a presentation from a special guest; Professor Craig Valli from Edith Cowan University.
Craig is the Director of the ECU Security Research Institute and Professor (Digital Forensics) within the School of Computer and Security Science.
He has over 25 years experience in the IT Industry and consults to industry and government on network security and digital forensics issues. His main research and consultancy is focussed on securing networks and critical infrastructures, detection of network borne threats and forensic analysis of cyber security incidents. His talk will focus on security issues and we encourage attendees to ask questions that may be relevant to their own work.
This will be followed by a brief presentation from Neil Stringfellow, Pawsey Supercomputing Centre Executive Director, and a sundowner session.
Please RSVP for catering purposes. Please contact David Satterthwaite (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you have any questions.
