Pawsey Friday: Carnegie’s Wave Power & Intern Poster Presentations
February 23, 2018 @ 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Pawsey Fridays are opportunities to get to know users and Pawsey experts.
The February Pawsey Friday will see experts from UWA and Carnegie Clean Energy present their groundbreaking wave power energy research as well as poster presentations from the latest Pawsey summer interns.
Ashkan Rafiee, the Senior Hydrodynamics Engineer at Carnegie Clean Energy will focus on CETO, the device that converts ocean waves into two of the most valuable commodities underpinning the sustainable growth of the planet – zero-emission electricity and zero-emission desalinated water.
Winners of the HPC Wire 2017 Editors Choice Awards: Best use of HPC in Energy, this presentation will not disappoint.
Rafiee’s presentation will be followed by a special Pawsey Friday hosted by our summer interns. Interns will use posters to present their work over the ten-week intensive program, ranging from climate modelling and gravitational wave detection to image classifications and bioinformatics.
These presentations will be followed by a brief Pawsey update from staff.
Please RSVP for catering purposes.
