SUPERCOMPUTING APPLICATIONS SPECIALIST

Pawsey Supercomputing Centre has two positions available for Supercomputing Application Specialists. Led by the Head of Supercomputing, Pawsey’s Supercomputing Team is responsible for providing the infrastructure to fulfil the needs of the Australian research community and to engage with that community to make best use of the infrastructure. The incumbents, as part of this highly skilled team of professional specialists and developers, will work collaboratively with researchers to assist them in exploiting the vast opportunities afforded by the infrastructure operated in the Pawsey centre to support the supercomputing needs of priority research areas such as radio astronomy and energy & resources.

Location:       Kensington, WA
Salary:            $92K –  $100K p.a. plus up to 15.4% superannuation

SENIOR SUPERCOMPUTER SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR  

  • Technical leadership role in the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre
  • Provide systems support and leadership for operation of Pawsey supercomputing infrastructure
  • Ensure high-performance computing resources and related services meet its service expectations

Pawsey provides services in the areas of supercomputing, data management and analysis, and visualisation. Led by the Head of Supercomputing, Pawsey’s Supercomputing Team is responsible for configuring the infrastructure to fulfil the needs of the Australian research community and to engage with that community to make best use of the infrastructure. This role, as part of this highly skilled team of professional specialists and system administrators, will ensure that Pawsey’s high-performance computing resources and related services meet its service expectations. This senior role provides technical leadership, ensuring high availability and reliability of services.

Location:       Kensington, Western Australia

Salary:            $106k – $124k plus up to 15.4% superannuation

HEAD OF DATA

  • Provide strategic input into the activities of the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre.
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop initiatives for the provision of large-scale data focussed infrastructure and services.
  • Lead initiatives in the provision of data focussed research infrastructure for the nation!

The Head of Data for the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre provides strategic leadership, management and guidance in the operation of data functions across the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre to enable researchers to perform complex and diverse activities in data services. In this role, you will be responsible for the management of technical and non-technical staff working in the Data team from across the Pawsey Partnership to provide high-quality services. The Head of Data is required to ensure objectives tied to funding are achieved and correspondingly will engage routinely with Executive level staff within CSIRO, the Universities and Government sectors.

The Head of Data provides key strategic input into the activities of the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre, and represents the Centre nationally, providing strategic guidance and input into initiatives involving the provision of data focussed research infrastructure provision for the nation.

Location:      Kensington, Perth WA
Salary:          $127k – $141k plus up to 15.4% superannuation
