Great Students – Awesome Projects – Cool Infrastructure
The Pawsey Supercomputing Centre is searching for students willing to challenge themselves through our research internship program.
Students from all fields and disciplines are encouraged to apply.
We will provide access to high performance computing, visualisation facilities, large-scale data storage and high speed communications – and expert help to make best use of technology. Researchers at Pawsey member institutions have submitted an impressive array of projects for students to work on.
The internship program includes an intensive induction week to help students grasp the basics of supercomputing, data management and scientific visualisation and understand their impact on research now and in the future.
Pawsey internships build capacity in computational science by giving students the opportunity to immerse themselves in advanced computing projects. Interns are supervised by leading researchers and undertake challenging research projects utilising the resources provided by Pawsey. Supervisors and sponsors benefit from the opportunity to explore new techniques and technologies for their research area.
The internships are open to 3rd year or higher undergraduate students (including honours) at Pawsey partner institutions*. The program runs for 10 weeks during the period December through February, although dates and exact length of the internship are negotiable. The standard award is $6,000 (tax-free) per student, dependent on the length of the project.
