The Western Australian Government has announced in the 2015-16 Budget $13m of continued funding for the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre, showcasing its commitment to maintaining Western Australia’s place as a scientific and technology hub.

In his budget speech, Treasurer Mike Nahan says the WA Government “will…pursue innovation through science in a $13 million, three year investment in the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre; a world class facility with expertise in high performance computing and visualisation technologies.”

The operational funding allows the Pawsey Supercomputing Centre to continue offering world-class resources and expertise to WA and national researchers.

Pawsey Supercomputing Centre Executive Director Dr Neil Stringfellow says “This funding enables new avenues of research and inspires other scientists to expand their existing work to deliver the best possible scientific outcomes for Western Australia.”
